Web.com Tour’s Bahamas Great Abaco Classic was won by American golfer Andrew Landry right here in the Out Islands! Stars are bing made! After days of rounds at the beautiful golf course here in the Bahamas, he finished the tournament at 16 under par. The player field consisted of 132 golfers from all over the world and purse prizes totaling $600,000. The tournament aired on the golf channel and kicked off on January 19th with a festive beachside Junkanoo and of course plenty to eat and drink.
While the game play took place at the golf course at The Abaco Club, most of the players stayed here at Abaco Beach Resort where some of them were even treated to an exciting fishing trip! Nate Lashley, Chris Naegel, Christopher Worrell, and Talor Gooch caught their first large sportfish here in the Abacos while Shane Bertsch and his brother went on a bonefishing excursion.
We’d like to give a big congratulations to all the golfers who got to experience playing here in The Abacos!
